Can't import Google Play Services library to project

Solution 1

I found that the Android SDK Manager was saving to a different location than where I was looking. I had two Google Play Services in different files and under android-sdks was not the correct location. It was instead in my workspace under a file called: adt-bundle-windows. I think the file location changed due to installing a different version of Eclipse.

Solution 2

Copy your Google play services from sdk->extras->google->googlePlay services to a different location (i.e. Desktop)
Import it into Eclipse from there

Solution 3

If some one still not able to find the google play serice project..... go to your sdk manager and download Google play API from Extra tags...Hope it help.... as i have the same issue

As a dedicated Android Applications Developer, I’m elated to introduce myself to your team. I am currently employed as a Senior Android Software Engineer at the University of Arizona and I want to develop the next big thing! In my position at UofA, I have independently developed six Android apps and currently three of those apps are published in the Google Play Store. All of those apps were developed with Android Studio in Java. I also have built two different story-based games meant for tablet use: Don't Monkey Around with Diabetes and Car Smart. The former was built using Objective-C in Xcode and the latter was built with C# in Unity. Many of my projects also use RESTful calls to allow for more dynamic content. All of my projects are kept in Bitbucket for version control. In addition, I am currently working on rewriting Arizona Mobile. the University’s mobile experience developed by a third party as a hybrid app. This project is a work in progress, however I would like to share with you the code I have written as an example of my programming abilities. It is significantly larger and more complex than any other app I have had the pleasure of working on. One of my favorite modules to have worked on was the map module. I am using ArcGIS for Android to display and search for buildings and other points of interest. Since it is the most used module, I am working to optimize the speed and offline use to make sure students have the quickest access to information no matter where they are. One of my favorite Android apps to build was AZiCATS NOW. This app had to be built in just five business days, since it was a last-minute addition to a grant-funded project. AZiCATS NOW allows for offline use of clinical trials offered by the University of Arizona. Because of this short time frame, development was intense with the team meeting at least twice per day to make sure we were all working towards the stated goals of the application. I have enjoyed the recognition of my work at Hackathons, which I participate in as time allows. At the 2014 AT&T Connected Car and Home Hackathon, my team, which consisted of my dad, who programs backend communications with RESTful calls for the Android portion of the app I develop, and myself, won several awards including 2nd Place for the “Connect Car Track”. At the AT&T Developer Hackathon during the 2015 CES in Las Vegas, we were awarded Esri’s 1st place win for an app using ArcGIS, "I'm Almost There". While I have an unconditional love for programming, I am dedicated to giving back to the community I live in. I spend most Saturdays volunteering at a local animal shelter assisting with adoptions, in addition to fostering cats while they await their forever homes.

I am trying to import google play services into my project.

I am using Eclipse and went to File->Import->Existing Android Code Into Workspace->Next->Browse Browsed to:
```
C:\Users\Ami\android-sdks\extras\google\google_play_services
```
Here I saw samples/map, samples/panorama, and samples/plus. If I browse even deeper to:
```
C:\Users\Ami\android-sdks\extras\google\google_play_services\libproject\google-play-services_lib
```
I get the error or Select a directory to search for existing Android projects, but there are no projects to select from the directory. I tried pressing the refresh button and nothing updated.

I have Google Play Services installed in the SDK manager

I have tried: cleaning and building my workspace. Closing and restarting Eclipse. Restarting my computer. Uninstalling Google Play Services and reinstalling it. Deleting the files from Windows Explorer and reinstalling them with Android SDK Manager. I would greatly appreciate any help.

In their instruction they said copy it to the workspace then import it, it is frustrating when it doesn't show up after following their words literally. They are wrong! You're right, Thanks a lot.
