the problem is because the applicationContext.xml is not loaded that's why the auto-configuration kicks in and try to initialize an embeded database . so to import your configuration file use in the class where you have @configuration

@ImportResource("classpath:path/to/applicationContext.xml")

    I am a newbie with Spring + Hibernate. I'm trying to deploy the application with Spring boot App, everything goes ok until I get the following exception:
