Toshiba laptop power light turns off when power button is pressed and the computer doesnt power on
I had similar issues with a Toshiba laptop. I had been using a third-party power adapter and battery which caused most of the issues.
At one point, the laptop wouldn't turn on like yours. The following worked for me:
- Unplug the power cord.
- Remove the battery.
- Hold the power button for 20 seconds (yes this long)
- Plug in the power cord.
- Hold the power button for 20 seconds
The laptop should now power on.

Ever learning and solving problems through code... Outside of work I love working with python, it simplifies my work and life i might say..and laravel as it brings out the artistic side of code, For work I mostly prefer Javascript and learning to build code thats maintainable and of good quality..I always refer to 'Javascript the good parts' and love reading books in general

I say Reinstate Monica over 6 yearsWelcome to Super User! So are you saying it's necessary to apply new thermal paste to the CPU & South Bridge? Or just the DVD drive? If not the former, please remove it from the answer if it's not part of the solution.
