Can't install guest additions to Lubuntu

Question

I'm running Lubuntu as a virtual machine in virtual box. The problem I'm getting is trying to install guest additions.

When I run uname -r I get:

3.11.0-14-generic

This is my log for /var/lib/dkms/vboxguest/4.2.4/build/make.log:

I get this whenever I'm trying to apt-get install 3.11.0-14-generic, I get that error in the make. This is my log for the apt-get:

Solution

Maybe the version of VirtualBox is too old for the guest. I have downloaded a fresh VBoxGuestAdditions.iso from VirtualBox:

http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/4.3.8/VBoxGuestAdditions_4.3.8.iso

You can mount the newer iso and try again.

I already did that. I tried inputting anyways and I got an error during the VBoxLinuxAdditions.run, here's the log: paste.ubuntu.com/7098021

Same errors and log when I run VBoxLinuxAdditions.run paste.ubuntu.com/7098021 Can't have virtual box automatically resize the resolution.

Encountered the same problem as OP too, after looking at the version number on your URL I just realized that I've mistakenly installed an old version of VirtualBox from 2012. Me = dumb. :)
