Disabling trackpad on Lenovo laptop

24

Solution 1

You should be able to disable the trackpad through Device Manager.

  1. Open Computer Management: Start -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Device Manager. You require administrator privileges to open Device Manager.
  2. In Device Manager, expand Mice and other pointing devices
  3. The trackpad will either appear as something relevant to trackpads (like IBM Trackpad) or a generic mouse. Double click the entry (or right click -> Properties)
  4. Click the Driver tab.
  5. Click Disable. Click OK. Close Device Manager

The trackpad should now be disabled.

Alternatively, if you have administrator rights, you could download and install Ultranav

Solution 2

  1. Go to "Control Panel" --> "Mouse" --> tab "UltraNav", click "Show UltraNav icon on the system tray".

  2. Go to system tray, click "UltraNav", click "Disable/Enable".

Solution 3

You have to go to your BIOS then to "config" tab -> keyboard/mouste -> set Touch Pad to disabled.

Solution 4

I have found the easiest method since the TouchPad+TrackPoint driver adds a tab to Control Panel's "Mouse" configuration applet:

Control Panel > Mouse > ThinkPad tab > Pointing Options > Use TrackPoint Only

I have a 3D array arr[i][j][k]. If I want to map (i,j,k) to a number then I can do it by using i*Ry*Rz + j*Ry + k. What if I want to map it backwards, i.e. given a number, I want (i,j,k). I am not able to derive the formula for that. Can anyone help? Range of i, j, k are 0 to Rx, Ry, Rz respectively.

Either of Row/Column major order is fine.

I want to get it without using the loops.

You can't. An x-dimensional array must be looped in O(n^x) to reverse matchup.

Worked for Ultrabook and Windows 10. Seems to be the most easy solution.
