Error resolving template [home], template might not exist or might not be accessible by any of the configured Template Resolvers

Question

First time posting so do correct me when I'm formulating this wrong. Although I'm not deviating from the default mapping for the folder structure I thought I'd add in the settings.

whenever I request the /home mapping I get a TemplateInputException

Solution 1

Why are you creating headache by writing redundant code for configuration in spring boot? Spring boot will automatically configure all these for you.

Just remove the class

        configurer.setCacheable(false);
        configurer.setCheckExistence(true);
        return configurer;
    }
}

And In your controller class you are returning return "home"; but there is no html with name home.html in templates folder. There is hello.html. So in your controller write

return "hello";

Solution 2

Please update spring.thymeleaf.enabled=false in application.properties in your project.

In my case restarting IntelliJ Idea helped. I thought it was problem with caching the templates.

Error message told you everything

template might not exist

You return "home" template from controller but I don't see such file within templates folder on enclosed screenshot.

Rename templates/hello.html to templates/home.html
