Confirm which Firefox software is installed...
dpkg -l *firefox* | grep ii
Then uninstall the current Firefox...
sudo apt-get purge firefox-mozilla-build
And install the new version...
sudo apt-get install firefox
sudo apt-get install libdbus-glib-1-2 # use only if install fails, then retry install

After uninstalling firefox using
sudo apt-get purge firefox
and deleting.mozilla/firefox/
in home directory. I tried to un/reinstall it again many times, but I always got this message when I ranfirefox -v
XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /opt/firefox/libxul.so: libdbus-glib-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Couldn't load XPCOM.
Has anybody any idea how to resolve this problem? I'm using ubuntu 16.04 LTS
UPDATE: I tried to remove /opt/firefox/ directory and this is what I got when I ran
sudo apt-get install firefox
