Wireless broken, xps 13 on 16.04
Solution 1
Found in other answers, this is how I fixed the problem:
sudo lshw -C network
*-network
(...)
logical name: wlp58s0
(...)
I then ran sudo ifconfig wlp58s0 up
and after that sudo service network-manager restart
. This fixed my wifi and after reboot it is still working.
Since the dell xps13 (9350) has had many troubles with wifi, I hope this will help others to fix theirs too.
EDIT: This only fixes it once, after reboot the same steps have to be performed again to get it back on.
Solution 2
Disabling secure boot in the BIOS solved the problem for me. I found the answer on the dell forums. (http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19683197)

Just now I upgraded to 16.04 from 15.10. I had installed a newer kernel in 15.10 (I believe the 4.4.2 kernel), but the kernel of 16.04 is supposed to have working wifi with xps 13 out of the box. However, right after installing and rebooting, it seems to have lost my wifi. Is there something I have overlooked? Or better said, how to get it working again?

MagicLAMP about 6 yearsI ended up replacing the wireless card with an Intel one. That works great!! And only thirty bucks.
