Wireless connected but no internet access
Solution 1
Well, I ask at ubuntu forums and they answer very fast and it worked.
Click on Network Manager>
Click 'Edit'
Edit the wireless connection>
Click the IPv6 tab>
Set IPv6 to ignore>
click OK>
Reboot.
(I just tested on ubuntu 15, down in the comments, some people said that version 16 seems not work)
Solution 2
If you have an Android phone you can also use it as a Wi-Fi adapter... I had to do this a few times and it works very well.
- turn off mobile data on your phone.
- turn on USB tethering (don't just turn on personal hotspot as it turns off your phone's wifi).
- that should bridge the connection between your phone and PC.

I'm using ubuntu 15.04 vivid, I'm connected to the wifi but when I open Firefox, it said "Server not found", I open Software Updater it said Failed to download, basically no internet access. But I've used ubuntu 14 before and I could use the wifi normally without any error. Also my Windows and my phones work without any error too. I've clean reinstall several time and I have the same problem.
Here is some information about my situation:
My wifi device is: Huawei HG8045A
$ ifconfig -a eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr a4:ba:db:d7:88:90 UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:0 (0.0 B) TX bytes:0 (0.0 B) lo Link encap:Local Loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:65536 Metric:1 RX packets:8281 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:8281 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:563292 (563.2 KB) TX bytes:563292 (563.2 KB) wlan0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr c4:46:19:0f:ee:bf inet addr:192.168.100.9 Bcast:192.168.100.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: fe80::c646:19ff:fe0f:eebf/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:33059 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:25679 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:32258604 (32.2 MB) TX bytes:2616017 (2.6 MB)
Second command:

Third command:
$ ping -c3 ubuntuforums.org ping: unknown host ubuntuforums.org
Result from a guy's script I found on internet:

Tojo Chacko about 8 yearsThanks for the answer. It works for me on my Ubuntu 15.10 OS.

Dev Lim almost 8 yearsthis method working but occasionally the wifi still dropping/connect but not working. I find out that other than do what truongnm state, another thing to do is disable the ipv6 on modem router settings which may or may not available depend on the modem.

Charles Clayton almost 7 yearsThis is a good example of solving the problem, but not the issue. Hopefully this'll only be a temporary fix until I can find out what's really wrong.

Damian Dixon over 3 years@Vesanto, no definitive idea as to why this works. However I find disabling IPv6 helps with some Windows boxes too. I suspect that the device or a device(s) on the internal network are not playing well with IPv6. Given that most people are using a router and NAT using IPv4 on an internal network should not be an issue.
